This is the beautiful Yaquina Head Lighthouse. We took the Otter Crest Loop and stopped when we saw this spectacular view. The lighthouse is still in operation and has a specific light pattern to identify it from the sea. Two second on, two seconds, off, two seconds on, 15 seconds off. 
Down to the left, at the base of the cliffs the lighthouse is on is a manmade tidepool that is pretty neat. We weren't able to go too far in because some harbor seals were 'harboring' the area.
Look at those fat little cuties. They had some pups with them.
We had fun exploring what used to be an old rock quarry. Now it has sea life and beautiful starfish.
They have a new interpretive center that is nice. We thought we'd feel our own insignificance by taking a picture with a life-size blue whale.

What a beautiful sight. It was lit on August 20, 1873 and stands 93 feet tall. The lighthouse is truly a light on a hill that cannot be hid. It is a symbol of what man can accomplish through hard labor and inspiration. I love lighthouses.
